Governor Mary Fallin also declared July, 2017 as "Smart Irrigation Month"
Governor Fallin's proclamation includes in part:
"WHEREAS, well-maintained green spaces are important to the health and well-being of Oklahoma communities; and
WHEREAS, irrigation plays a critical role in supporting Oklahoma agriculture; and
WHEREAS, appropriate irrigation technology, combined with best practices, can significantly improve residential and commercial water-use efficiency . . .
Now, therefore, I, Mary Fallin, Governor, do hereby proclaim the month of July 2017 as "Smart Irrigation Month" in the state of Oklahoma."

Oklahoma City Mayor, Mick Cornett, has declared July 2017 as "Smart Irrigation Month" in the City of Oklahoma City.
This proclamation, co-sponsored by the Oklahoma Irrigation Association and Oklahoma Nursery and Landscape Association declares, in part, that "WHEREAS these organizations (OIA and ONLA) recognize July as "Smart Irrigation Month" to raise awareness of advances in irrigation technology and practices that help raise healthy plants and increase crop yields while using water more efficiently and encourages the adoption of smart irrigation practices to further improve water-use efficiency in agricultural, residential and commercial activities. Now, Therefore, I, Mick Cornett, Mayor of The City of Oklahoma City, do hereby proclaim July 2017 as SMART IRRIGATION MONTH in Oklahoma City."
